Investing in People: Why FTI Delta Backed My MBA

April 24, 2025

In December of last year, I graduated from INSEAD’s MBA program. On the day of my graduation, I was swept with a wave of gratitude — for the opportunity to spend the past twelve months with inspiring people, traveling, and learning to broaden my horizons. None of this would have been possible without FTI Delta.

I joined FTI Delta in 2018 after completing my undergraduate studies in the US. This was my first job, and I was excited to join the New York office. Over time, I learned from a variety of projects and eventually transferred to the Dubai office in 2020. There, I specialized in the Media and Entertainment sector and ultimately reached the title of Team Leader.

Throughout my years at FTI Delta, I often wondered whether pursuing an MBA was the right path for me. On one hand, I felt it would be a valuable step in building a strong network and returning to the classroom. On the other, I was overwhelmed by the lengthy application process and the multitude of options available. Luckily, I had the support of FTI Delta throughout this decision.

While I was still deciding whether to pursue an MBA, FTI Delta gave me the opportunity to take a three-month leave to study and sit for the GMAT. When I returned and began the application process, my mentors and close colleagues were consistently supportive and encouraging. Through countless conversations and idea exchanges, they helped me identify that INSEAD was the right fit for me.

Once I was admitted, I received strong encouragement from the SMDs and HR team, and quickly secured sponsorship. The process was simple and smooth: after some early discussions with the Head of HR during my application, two more swift meetings post-admission confirmed the sponsorship. This included full coverage of tuition, educational materials, and visa expenses incurred during the year.

At INSEAD, I switched hats from consultant to student. I navigated the school’s core curriculum and chose electives that would enhance my financial acumen and communication skills — areas I believed would strengthen my development as a consultant. Outside the classroom, I built long-lasting friendships, explored new places, and nourished hobbies like diving and surfing that are harder to pursue with a full-time job.

The MBA experience helped me broaden my horizons, challenge my assumptions, and develop critical skills in communication and negotiation. Returning to FTI Delta, I feel better equipped to liaise with clients, communicate with clarity, and contribute insights I previously lacked. I'm now part of a global alumni network spread across leading companies — a strong asset as I begin engaging more deeply in business development. Thanks to the MBA, I feel reenergized and more capable of navigating the next steps in my career as I continue developing as a manager.

And this is precisely why FTI Delta offers MBA sponsorship — to ensure its employees gain new, valuable skills while also having the opportunity to travel, learn, and grow on a personal level. The benefit extends beyond the individual: having more employees with global exposure, fresh ideas, and strategic thinking fosters a more dynamic and diverse corporate culture. It’s a win-win — employees return with sharper skills and broader perspectives, and FTI Delta continues to grow as a leader in the consulting world.
